A Rewording Life
Sheryl Gordon has a word or two for us. In fact, she has about a thousand. Her anthology A Rewording Life brings together over 350 pages of underused and unusual words, with sentences (and sometimes more) defining them in creative ways by what Gordon describes as “over 1000 cool Canadian contributors.”
I volunteered to be one of them. My word is Aural, dear to my heart because of my hearing loss.
You’ll have to buy the book to find out what I wrote (in company with writers like Yann Martel, Jane Urquhart, Miriam Toews, Emma Donoghue, Linwood Barclay, Mim Thúy and, oh, so many more). When you do, you’ll be helping Gordon in her quest to raise money for research into Alzheimer’s and dementia – hashtag #demENDtia – with contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Please have a look. It’s sure to edify. And I know Gordon will be chuffed.
