Helen Battersby has contributed concepts and words for branding, print and digital media. Her international clients have ranged from banks to bakeries, and fields from hospitality to graphic design, real estate, education, not-for-profit, and professional services.
She has earned writing awards from the IABC and participated in scores of award-winning designs, recognized by the Advertising and Design Club of Canada, the AIGA, and Communication Arts, among others. Her work is in the collection of the Royal Ontario Museum.
Helen earned an Honours B.A. in Fine Arts from Toronto’s York University, and has studied marketing at Ryerson, and poetry at the Humber School for Writers.
She is also a 10-year volunteer with the Toronto Master Gardeners and a member of the Garden Writers Association, with writing credits in Garden Making, Trellis, and Into Gardening. Since 2006, she has teamed with her sister to write TorontoGardens.com, a top-50 garden blog.
Hooked on power walking since 2003, Helen has put four full marathons under her feet. In 2017, her goal is to finish her 40th half marathon.
